Remote Solar Panel comes with 20 feet of lead wire and is powered by three 1.2V NiMh AA batteries (Included). The panel swivels 360 degrees and is adjustable vertically for optimum collection if placed in the above ground option.
Light provided is equivalent to 20W.
Solar Panel Instructions and Information
Each solar light fixture includes the following components:
(1) Solar Panel- Provides the energy to charge the battery source on a daily basis. Solar panel rating: 300 mA/ 10v.
(2) Photo Cell- A photo cell is integrated within the solar panel for dusk (on) operation. Panel must be placed in direct sunlight and placed in darkness to operate.
(3) Batteries- (3) AA rechargeable, 1.2v, 1500 mAh at 5v total (per panel)
(4) Mounting Hardware- Hardware included for each type of fixture (ground stake, deck mount, wall mount, pole mount, etc.). Contact supplier for optional mountings.
(5) Lead Wire- A 20 ft lead wire is supplied to allow optimum placement (for sunlight) of the solar panel. The panel may be ground staked or surface mounted. Position the solar panel for the most direct sunlight. If the wire is too long, use a zip or twist tie device- do not cut the wire).
Important Notes for Operation:
(1) Do not connect with wet hands.
(2) This product is not a toy and should not be operated by children.
(3) Do not submerge this product in water.
(4) Do not attempt to repair or modify this product.
(5) Batteries must be recycled or properly disposed.
Operation:
(1) Make sure that the batteries are installed properly in the solar panel.
(2) Make sure that the lead wire from the fixture is connected to the solar panel.
(3) Make sure that the solar panel receives direct sunlight.
(4)
For best results the panel should face South as closely as possible in the Northern Hemisphere. The tilt mounting angle can vary from below 30 degrees in southern states to above 60 degrees in northern states.
(5) The panel has (3) settings- Hi, Low and Off. The low setting will (generally) provide several more hours of light output, however the light intensity may be slightly diminished compared to the high setting.
For best results:
(1) Do not leave the solar panel out in extremely harsh weather for extended periods of time or cover the panel with a plastic bag when not in use.
(2) Apply a small bead of clear silicon around the edge of the solar panel and the battery compartment. Make sure no silicon gets onto the solar panel.
(3) Apply electric connection grease on the battery terminals.
(4) Change the batteries every 9 to 12 months.
(5) Keep the solar panel and fixture clean. Dust with a dry soft cloth.
Testing and Operation:
Make sure that the panel is charged for a minimum of 6 hours and test the fixture in a dark area only. Any surrounding light will affect the photo controller in the panel.
